The energy management course leading to the Advanced Federal Diploma (AFPE) in Energy and Efficiency Consulting is divided into six modules, which are completed with a written module examination.
It consists of the modules "Technical fundamentals of energy technology" with the module sections Physical fundamentals (energy and power, energy sources, fundamentals of electricity, electricity installations), measurement technology (measurement instruments, measurement methods, test procedures and influences, key figures, energy management systems), control and regulation technology (fundamentals, practical application), drive and process technology (fundamentals, practical application), the module "Technical fundamentals of construction" with the module parts Energy in construction (types of heat transport, thermal resistance of materials, building energy flow, Swiss building stock), building constructions, labels and tools (building construction, labels and standards, SIA 380/1), "Technical installations" with the module sections Electrical Components, Individual Consumers (household appliances, lighting, motors) Important Plant Systems (heating and hot water, thermal solar systems, CHP systems, ventilation systems, air conditioning systems, compressed air systems, waste heat utilization, heat recovery, control, regulation and building management systems, standards and tools), the module "Energy industry" with the module parts energy policy (energy statistics, renewable energy, energy strategy), instruments (laws and principles, labels and guidelines, players), the module "Measures for energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies" with the module parts efficiency potentials and potentials of renewable energies (specific key figures, system technology), measures (description of measures, refurbishment strategy, implementation support, operational optimization) and the module "Corporate management" with the module parts Personnel Management and Personnel Policy (personnel management, personnel development, personnel planning, personnel management), Business Administration (profitability, insurance, corporate finance, taxation, accounting), Marketing in Energy and Efficiency Consulting (marketing instruments, customer care and appearance, market analysis, sales / consulting, marketing planning, practical application), Corporate Strategy and Organization, Legal Affairs (legal terms, contract theory, corporate forms, claims, labour law).
Important note: This Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) was abolished without replacement in 2025.
