The Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FPE) in Furnishing Consultant is a very comprehensive examination lasting around 40 hours. The examination is divided into four subjects: written and oral examinations in the subject of materials and product knowledge in furniture and interior design, written and oral examinations in the subject of spatial planning and interior design, an oral and or written examination in sales and consulting as well as in the subject of business knowledge.
