Thanks to their broad knowledge of business administration and their specialist knowledge in disciplines such as business law, economics and business informatics, graduates of a business administration degree can be found in many areas of a company, for example in human resource management, production and logistics, supply chain management, finance and accounting, controlling, marketing or corporate development. There they lead negotiations, manage their employees, develop solutions, prepare performance and cost calculations, are responsible for balance sheets, income statements and annual financial statements as well as the optimization of services and products. Business economists also monitor and correct business processes using information, planning and controlling tools, define the sales strategy and pricing policy and carry out personnel controlling. They are also responsible for checking credit and investment risks, shares, investments and services. Depending on the area of work, business economists perform different tasks, which means that their activities can be very varied.
