Was wird in einer Berufswahlschule gemacht?

What is done at a vocational school?

Depending on the vocational school, you can choose a profile and a program upon entry that supports you in different areas. For example, some schools offer a practical vocational preparation year (BVJ), a school-based BVJ, a company-based BVJ or a linguistically integrative BVJ for young people who speak a foreign language. In all of these programs, you will be supported in finding a career, as well as in your search for an apprenticeship or admission to a secondary school. In addition, pupils in the 10th school year, i.e. the vocational choice year, receive academic support, their knowledge gaps are closed and, especially in the case of the school-based BVJ, extensive academic support is provided in order to pass the entrance examination for grammar school, for example.
