Nutritionists work in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, doctors' surgeries, nursing and retirement homes, in public nutritional advice centers or on a self-employed basis. They can also be found in schools, sales organizations, health insurance companies, the food industry or the media, where they take on a wide variety of tasks, depending on their training and continuing education, further training.

Tasks and activities of nutritionists:

Nutrition education by raising awareness of healthy eating among different target groups, imparting basic knowledge and raising awareness of nutrition-related issues.

Nutritionists develop individual nutritional concepts for their clients, identify nutritional problems and offer solutions. They treat risk factors and illnesses that occur as a result of nutritional errors (such as type 2 diabetes mellitus) with targeted nutritional therapies.
