What do the individual language levels mean?
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages has defined six language levels that certify specific language skills. All the information relates to the skills you have after attending a corresponding course at a Spanish school. These guidelines serve to show outsiders (such as a new employer) how well you speak Spanish, but also to help you better assess which language course you can attend next and which corresponding language exam is available. The following distinctions are made:
- A1- sufficient language skills to understand and use the simplest expressions and words. Give and ask information about yourself and your everyday life
- A2 - Knowledge sufficient to use and understand frequently used expressions (shopping, family, work,...). Can make themselves understood and talk about the past
- B1 - Ability to understand what is said and read, provided it is not of an everyday nature, and to write compact texts on familiar topics
- B2 - Language skills enable you to understand and fluently reproduce complex content, both orally and in writing
- C1 - Perfect language skills that help you communicate effortlessly at a high level
- C2 - language skills at native speaker level
