What does a medical practice assistant do?

An MPA (medical practice assistant) is the doctor's closest employee. She receives patients in the doctor's surgery or group practice, prepares examinations and assists with them. They are also responsible for administering injections, operating equipment, caring for and sterilizing instruments, applying dressings and taking X-rays. Their duties also include the examination of stool, urine and blood samples. Federal VET Diploma medical practice assistants are also involved in organizing consultation hours and administration.
