Was macht ein Ödemtherapeut?
What does an edema therapist do?
An edema therapist is employed in hospitals, physiotherapy and massage practices, rehabilitation centers, spa hotels, in the field of prevention, healthcare and health care. Specialists in oedema therapy and manual lymphatic drainage therapy eliminate or prevent congestion in the lymphatic system. To do this, they use various grip techniques that increase the removal of fluid through the lymphs and reduce water retention in the tissue. As decongestion therapy, the areas and regions of the body to be treated are specifically stimulated in order to drain excess tissue fluid via the blood vessels and rebalance the lymphatic system. This localized oedema (swelling) often occurs after sports injuries and operations in particular, but also for a whole range of other causes, and in many cases can be efficiently eliminated by a professionally trained oedema therapist.
