The tasks of an automation technician can vary depending on the company and training qualification, especially with regard to independent working methods and management responsibility. In general, however, it can be said that automation technicians are responsible or jointly responsible for extensive automation tasks, including evaluation, design, development, assembly, programming, commissioning, maintenance and optimization. You will be dealing with various technologies from the fields of sensor technology, hydraulics, mechanics, pneumatics, drive technology, electrical engineering and programmable controllers (including display panels). Automation and building automation technicians are also often responsible for documentation, introduction and user training.
