What do I learn when studying to become a physiotherapist?
The Bachelor of Physiotherapy comprises 180 ECTS credits and generally consists of the following subjects:
- Medical and scientific basics (including anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, pathology, movement analysis, functional diagnostics, pain analysis, basic clinical knowledge)
- Practical physiotherapy skills (including examination and treatment of the musculoskeletal system, internal organs, neuromotor skills, sensory skills, manual therapy, movement training, electro-/hydrotherapy)
- Rehabilitation & Health (including internal medicine, neurology, mental rehabilitation, geriatrics, palliative care, mental health, health promotion, prevention, life-phase-oriented concepts)
- Communication & interprofessional work (including therapeutic conversation & relationship building, interprofessional cooperation with professional groups such as nursing, midwives, occupational therapy)
- Scientific work & evidence
- Healthcare, Leadership & Management
There are also various internships.
