What do I learn on a barman course?
The content of a bartending course can be very different and varies from school to school.
Nevertheless, those interested often learn the following in a basic course in order to be equipped for the profession of barman or barmaid:
- Bar terminology
- Important work utensils
- Cocktail categories
- Preparation of cocktails
- Distillation
- Units of measurement
- Product knowledge of various spirits and beverage categories
- Hygiene regulations and hospitality legislation
Many bar courses also cover flair bartending, bar management and guest communication.
