What is an SUVA safety officer?
Company managers are usually unable to perform all occupational safety tasks themselves. It is therefore common for certain tasks to be delegated to employees. To do this, they need to have the appropriate SUVA safety officer training, for which there are various levels:
- Contact person for occupational safety: KOPAS are safety officers in SMEs that are affiliated to an industry solution
- Persons with basic knowledge of occupational safety: SUVA safety officers in SMEs that are not affiliated to an industry solution
- Safety assistants (SiAs): 6-day occupational safety course completed
- Occupational safety specialists (ASA): safety experts and engineers, occupational hygienists, occupational physicians or occupational safety specialists
