What is the difference between a CAS and an MAS in real estate valuation?
A CAS in real estate valuation is a short certificate course (Certificate of Advanced Studies) that explains the methods of real estate valuation to participants and has a scope of 15 ECTS. It consists of three modules: "Methodology", "Context" and "Special circumstances" and can currently be taken at five Swiss Universities. The MAS (Master of Advanced Studies in Real Estate Management with a specialization in Valuation / Portfolio Management) is a comprehensive continuing education master's degree consisting of a total of three CASs and a master's thesis. One of these CASs is also the CAS Real Estate Valuation, another is the CAS Real Estate Development, and the third is either the CAS Real Estate Analysis or CAS Real Estate Management.
