What is the difference between the AFPE Marketing Manager course and the NDS-CHE?
The difference between the AFPE course in Marketing Management and the NDS-CHE lies in the content, duration and admission requirements:
- Postgraduate studies CHE tend to be subject-specific (e.g. online marketing, marketing communication, etc.), usually build on a CHE degree and take slightly less time than AFPE courses.
- AFPE courses build on the Federal Professional Examination and are geared towards management tasks.
The duration varies:
- A postgraduate studies CHE usually takes 2-3 semesters, part-time.
- An AFPE course lasts 3 - 4 semesters, part-time.
The admission requirements are different:
- For a postgraduate studies CHE:
- Federal Diploma of Higher Education and Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE)
- or several years of qualified professional experience (with admission procedure)
- or diploma from a College of Higher Education (e.g. business, technology, tourism)
- or degree from a university or University of Applied Sciences (also abroad)
- for an AFPE course as a marketing manager:
- Federal Diploma of Higher Education from an industry-specific professional examination (e.g. marketing specialist), diploma from another Advanced Federal Professional Examination, diploma from a College of Higher Education or diploma from a University of Applied Sciences
- 3 years of professional experience in a management position in marketing
- orFederal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET) of at least 3 years, diploma from a recognized commercial or Specialized School or Matura certificate
- 6 years of professional experience, including 3 years in a management position in marketing
