What is the difference between CAS, DAS, EMBA and MAS in continuing education, further training in marketing?
A CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies), a DAS (Diploma of Advanced Studies), a MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) and an EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) are continuing education, further training courses that build on previous knowledge to impart specialized know-how and are aimed at university graduates with professional experience. An EMBA program at Universities of Applied Sciences in Marketing is aimed at proven managers who have a university degree and specialist professional experience. It is offered by business schools, enjoys an excellent reputation and primarily teaches leadership and management know-how. However, MAS courses are also offered at other Universities. These are postgraduate courses that require a university degree and several years of relevant professional experience and are recognized both federally and internationally. An MAS in marketing comprises at least 60 ECTS credits and is structured according to the Bologna system. An MAS is made up of several CASs and, unlike a consecutive Master's degree (building on a Bachelor's degree), does not entitle the holder to write a dissertation. These CAS continuing education courses at universities of applied sciences for marketing can be taken individually and comprise at least 10 ECTS credits. Various Certificate of Advanced Studies CAS can be combined to form a DAS (Diploma of Advanced Studies), which comprises at least 30 ECTS credits and is completed with a diploma. An MAS degree can also be obtained with several CASs.
