What is the difference between Electrical Engineering CHE and UAS?
If you want to train or further your education in the field of electrical engineering, there are various options open to you. You can study electrical engineering at a College of Higher Education or a University of Applied Sciences. Studying at a College of Higher Education (CHE) to become an electrical engineering technician (CHE) is suitable for anyone who, after completing their apprenticeship as an electrical fitter (Federal VET Diploma), physics laboratory technician (Federal VET Diploma), electrical planner (Federal VET Diploma), polymechanic (Federal VET Diploma), computer scientist (Federal VET Diploma), electronics technician (Federal VET Diploma), building services planner (Federal VET Diploma) or automation technician (Federal VET Diploma) and at least one year of professional experience in this field, is looking for practice-oriented continuing education, further training and specialist knowledge. To study at a University of Applied Sciences (UAS), prospective students are required to have a Federal Vocational Baccalaureate with a subject-related basic education. A Baccalaureate is also possible as admission to a UAS, but only in combination with an internship of at least one year in the field of electrical engineering. Anyone wishing to study electrical engineering at a University of Applied Sciences without meeting these admission requirements should contact the relevant Universities directly.
