What career prospects are there for painting therapists?
Painting therapists or art therapists with a federal diploma have various professional development opportunities after completing the Advanced Federal Diploma (AFPE):
- Use of offers from professional associations and training institutions, for example for specializations or further training
- Regular continuing education, further training, as this is required for the reimbursement of art therapy services by supplementary insurance companies
- There is no standardized continuing education, further training that builds directly on the AFPE, but there are numerous follow-up options depending on previous training
Possible continuing education, further training or fields of study are, for example:
- College of Higher Education (CHE), for example as a qualified adult educator CHE or qualified activation specialist CHE
- University of Applied Sciences (UAS), for example Bachelor's or Master's degree programs in applied psychology, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychomotor therapy or special education
- Postgraduate studies at Colleges of Higher Education, Universities of Applied Sciences or Universities, for example Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Clinical Music Therapy or Specialized Art Therapy
This opens up both professional specializations and new fields of activity in the therapeutic, educational or counseling environment.
