Was genau sind eigentlich Naturwissenschaften?

What exactly are the natural sciences?

The natural sciences are a generic term for a wide range of different sciences that deal with the observation, measurement and analysis of nature. Roughly speaking, the natural sciences can be divided into five areas: biology, physics, astronomy, chemistry and environmental sciences. These in turn are each divided into sub-areas, which are sciences in their own right and can be assigned to one main field, as well as being an amalgamation of several specialist areas, such as geochemistry, bioinformatics or biophysics, some of which are often referred to as "life sciences".
