Was genau macht ein Raumplaner?
What exactly does a room planner do?
A spatial planner is responsible for the design of settlements and residential areas, for the planning of transportation systems and routes, which includes not only squares and roads but also bus and streetcar routes, pedestrian and cycle paths. They are jointly responsible for the development of entire urban districts, which includes not only residential areas but also workplaces and leisure uses. Spatial planners strive to improve the quality of life in communities and cities thanks to well thought-out concepts and utilization plans, taking into account mobility, social hotspots, sustainability and economic efficiency, to name but a few points. Spatial planners are responsible for the development of a usable space, they develop planning and utilization concepts and visions that should cover the interests of as broad a section of the population as possible. To this end, they prepare territorial analyses, define strategies, develop planning projects for land use and spatial planning, draw up planning documents, guidelines and construction projects. Spatial planners are also responsible for spatial and urban management, they coordinate and manage urban and territorial projects and also manage complex or highly sensitive spatial planning projects.
