Anyone wishing to be admitted to the Federal Professional Examination for the Federal Certificate of Competence in Automotive Diagnostics must meet the following requirements:
- 4-year basic training in automotive engineering and 2 years of professional experience
- 3-year basic training in automotive engineering and 5 years of professional experience
- Vocational trainer certificate
- Refrigerant authorization
- Completion of the required areas of competence
