What type of courses are the CAS, DAS and MAS programs in nursing?
CAS, DAS and MAS in healthcare are specialized continuing education, further training courses at university level. These modular courses offer a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS), a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) or a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) to train experienced and well-trained nursing professionals in special topics, such as palliative care or pediatric nursing. A university degree and several years of professional experience are generally required to participate in certificate courses, diploma courses or Master of Advanced Studies courses, but qualified nurses are usually also admitted to continuing education courses "sur dossier" if they have sufficient qualifications and experience.
