Spanischkurs für Kinder: Kann ich auch mein Kind in einen Sprachkurs schicken?
Spanish course for children: Can I also send my child to a language course?
Children usually already learn a lot at school, be it math, German or a foreign language. If you are interested in your child learning Spanish in a Spanish course for children, you should always bear in mind that this could be too much for them and that either the school lessons or the language course could suffer as a result. Spanish courses are available for all ages and can be offered one afternoon a week for one hour or as a vacation course. The latter offers the advantage that your son or daughter is not confronted with the school curriculum at the same time and can concentrate fully on learning Spanish in the Spanish course for children - provided he or she is willing and motivated enough.
At language camps, for example, Spanish courses are held during a few hours of the day, which are similar to school lessons and teach your child everything they need to know in a fun way and with as little pressure as possible. After the Spanish course for children, leisure activities are offered, always led by Spanish-speaking teachers, so that the children are continuously familiarized with this new language and gain a sense of rhythm and sound. They learn to understand and overcome their reluctance to express themselves in Spanish. In this way, they learn to speak and understand Spanish during a summer camp.
If your child has already reached a certain age, a grammar school with a focus on Spanish may also be an option in order to concentrate more on learning this language. Spanish courses in language schools can be useful from the point at which your child knows exactly what he or she can do with this new knowledge, be it a year abroad or a move to Spain with the whole family.
