Sind Sprachaufenthalte für jedermann gleich empfehlenswert?

Are language courses equally recommended for everyone?

Language trips are the ideal way to learn French quickly and effectively, get to know the country and its people and make contact with like-minded people. Due to the high number of lessons per day as well as the exchange in the foreign language that takes place alongside the lessons, it is possible to learn and directly apply what you have learned much more quickly than in a standard language course in French schools here in Switzerland. Language trips and language camps are offered for children and teenagers as well as for young adults, as business courses or for special age groups, such as 50+ or 60+. Therefore, language stays are actually suitable for all age groups, provided you choose the right course.

Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind that not everyone is equally enthusiastic about the idea of spending a few weeks in a foreign country, with foreign people and speaking a foreign language. Some children are afraid of being away from home alone or find it difficult to make contact with people they don't know. Don't disregard your child's needs just because you think it might be good for him or her. In such a case, it may help to send a familiar person with him or her on the language trip, either an older sibling or a friend. After all, French schools abroad can only really bring linguistic success if the participant, whether child or adult, is willing, able and open to learning something new.
