Fire safety officer - what are their tasks?
A fire safety officer (SiBe) has the following tasks:
- Inspection and maintenance of structural fire protection (e.g. escape and rescue routes)
- Participation in integral tests
- Carrying out periodic checks of fire controls
- Ensuring the operational readiness of technical fire protection (extinguishing systems, fire and gas detection systems, heat extraction systems, safety power supply)
- Ensuring a functioning evacuation is the task of the fire safety officer
- Enforcement of organizational and operational fire protection measures (keeping escape and rescue routes clear, monitoring repair work and creating fire plans)
- Ensuring evacuation, fire and fire department deployment planning
- Completion of the necessary specialist and further training courses
