Sagen sogenannte Qualitätslabels wirklich etwas über die Ausbildungen in Museumsmanagement aus?
Do so-called quality labels really say anything about training courses in museum management?
Quality labels or quality certifications are only useful if they are of high quality, recognized throughout the industry or even the country and ensure transparency. This is particularly the case with two certifications, the ISO standard and the eduQua label. The ISO standard (International Organization for Standardization) is held in particularly high regard in the business world and has been specially adapted for schools and educational institutions. However, in museum management and other subject areas, it is primarily the eduQua certification that has become established throughout Switzerland. Schools applying for certification must ensure that their educational offerings are needs-based and also promise sustainable success, i.e. that participants can benefit from the learning outcomes in the long term. In addition, there must be transparency with regard to the courses and educational principles and the teaching staff must have a high level of didactic, methodological and technical expertise. For those interested in education, this means that it can be of great benefit to look around for museum management schools that are certified.
