Passerelle exam: What content is tested in the passerelle exam?
The Passerelle examination covers key subject areas that are aligned with the Swiss grammar school curriculum. The following subjects are tested in the Passerelle examination:
- German: Written text analysis, argumentation and oral expression and comprehension skills
- French or English: Written exam on reading comprehension, text production and language skills; oral exam on fluency and expression
- Mathematics: Topics from algebra, geometry, analysis, stochastics and oral application of mathematical concepts
- Natural sciences: Written examination with a focus on biology, chemistry and physics. Both theoretical knowledge and the ability to apply scientific methods are required
- Humanities: Written examination in history and geography with a focus on analysis, interpretation and reflection on historical and spatial contexts
The examinations are based on the Baccalaureate level. As preparation, we recommend looking at previous exams, which are available on the website of the State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation SERI. The examination fee is CHF 500.
