Network admin: What network administrator tasks are there?

The network administrator installs new or expands existing IT components and maintains them so that they are functional in the long term. If server or network components malfunction, the network admin must rectify this as quickly as possible.

 

According to the job description for network administrators, those who work in network administrator jobs usually perform the following network administrator tasks:

  • design, install, configure, monitor and maintain the information technology infrastructure of an organization or company

According to the job description for network administrators, these tasks and activities apply to all network admin positions - regardless of specialization in a specific operating system such as Cisco, Microsoft/Citrix, Windows or Security/VoIP.
