Do I have to be able to speak several languages to train as an interpreter?
At the start of your training as an interpreter, you must have a perfect command of your native language, which is usually also chosen as the basic language, as well as good language skills in at least one foreign language. If you are studying at a university, you must have at least two foreign languages (one of them English) at level C2 or better. If you have not yet reached the required language level before starting your studies or training at another educational institution, we recommend intensive language courses, which you can take at many language schools throughout Switzerland for a variety of languages.
