Do I have to have already worked as a fitter to train as a ventilation and air conditioning hygienist?

You must have professional experience in ventilation and air conditioning technology for continuing education, further training as a ventilation and air conditioning hygienist HFA. This can be through an apprenticeship with Federal VET Diploma as a ventilation fitter, building cleaner, building services planner for ventilation/air conditioning or as an operational maintenance specialist specializing in building services, or through continuing education, further training as a maintenance specialist or janitor with Federal Diploma of Higher Education. In the case of other qualifications, additional professional experience of at least two years in air conditioning and ventilation technology is required if this is an apprenticeship with Federal VET Diploma in a related profession, an apprenticeship with Federal VET Certificate as a ventilation fitter or a related profession. Without an apprenticeship qualification, at least four years in ventilation and air conditioning technology are required.
