Do I need to have previous knowledge of Russian to take a Russian course?
For a Russian for beginners course at a language school here in Switzerland, you don't need to have any knowledge of Russian. It is sufficient if you are prepared to actively participate in the lessons and to consolidate what you have learned at home in order to acquire your first basic knowledge. Only in more advanced courses, such as Russian for advanced learners or at level A2, do you need to have a basic knowledge of the language, which you will already have acquired in full in a beginners' course at level A1.
