Can I work professionally as a photographer after a photography course?
Being able to take photographs and producing high-quality, professional photographs are two different things. Attending a one-day basic photography course will give you an insight into the most important techniques, but will not train you to become a professional photographer. If you are considering becoming a professional photographer in the future, it is advisable to choose a photography course right at the beginning and then attend various further training courses, for example on image composition, flash technique, portrait photography or baby photography. Image processing such as Photoshop and Lightroom are also included in this case.
However, you can also learn photography in a basic training course to become a photographer, which concludes with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, or in a course of study to become a designer in communication design CHE with a specialization in photography, i.e. a College of Higher Education.
