Kann ich nach dem Lehrgang in Raumgestaltung gleich als Innenarchitektin berufstätig werden?
Can I work as an interior designer straight after the interior design course?
You should be aware from the outset that a certificate course in interior design or interior architecture is not necessarily a federal qualification. If you are serious about starting a career as an interior designer, we recommend a sound basic education and training (VET) in interior design, which can take the form of an apprenticeship, a Bachelor's degree or a CHE degree. If, on the other hand, you already have a degree in art, architecture or graphic design and would like to expand your skills, for example to be responsible for interior design in addition to your work as an architect, a certificate course can also be very beneficial for you and serve as an additional qualification. As there are recognized training courses in interior design, it will probably be difficult for you to beat the competition if you only have a certificate, although this is certainly conceivable if you have perseverance, enthusiasm and talent. If you only want to work as an interior designer on a part-time basis, in a more private setting, a certificate course may well be the right choice for you. Please think carefully about what goals you want to achieve and to what extent they are realistic.
