Can I also catch up on my Federal Vocational Baccalaureate?
Yes, if you have a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma), you can complete the Federal Vocational Baccalaureate (BM). In this case, this is referred to as BM2 - in contrast to BM1, which is completed during vocational education and training for the Federal VET Diploma. BM2 and BM2 are equivalent.
For the BM2, you must take and pass the Federal Vocational Baccalaureate Examination (EBMP). You can prepare for the EBMP on your own or in preparatory courses at a vocational baccalaureate school (part-time or full-time). Full-time training takes one year, part-time preparation one and a half to two years.
You have to choose one of five specializations for the EBMP or BM, depending on the profession you have learned. The specializations are:
- Technology, architecture and life sciences
- Nature, landscape and food
- Economy and services
- Design and art
- Health and social affairs
