Can I do recognized training courses at any school for complementary therapy?
In principle, you cannot assume that every educational institution that offers you courses and training in the field of complementary therapy, for example in kinesiology or Ayurveda, also offers training courses that are structured in such a way that they comply with the guidelines of professional associations or other organizations, which enjoy a high reputation in Switzerland, such as the ErfahrungsMedizinisches Register (EMR), the Stiftung zur Anerkennung und Entwicklung der Alternativ- und Komplementärmedizin (ASCA) or the Naturärztevereinigung der Schweiz (NVS) and are often also a prerequisite for health insurance recognition (ASCA, EMR). If you are a complementary therapist and wish to bill for supplementary health insurance in the future, you should therefore make sure that your training complies with the relevant guidelines. Not all schools offer training for the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) in Complementary Therapy, so you should make sure that you can complete the full number of hours required for method recognition (1775 lessons in total).
