Can I take the NIV 14 exam without training?
Participation in the examination for the Low Voltage Installation Ordinance 14 does not necessarily require training as a solar technician HFA, but can also be sought by persons with a Federal VET Diploma in a related profession (electronics, IT, multimedia electronics, network electronics, automotive mechatronics, vehicle electrical electronics, heating installation, refrigeration installation, ventilation system construction, sanitary installation or a Federal Professional Examination or Advanced Federal Professional Examination AFPE) with an electrical engineering component. However, examination candidates must also have at least three years of professional experience in solar technology under the supervision of an NIV 14 license holder and have demonstrably completed at least 42 lessons of electrical engineering training.
