As a building technician with an internal school certificate, you generally do not have the skills required to manage employees. This requires a much more extensive training and trained communication and social skills. You can acquire these in continuing education, further training at a College of Higher Education to become a certified CHE building technology technician, formerly a building technology technician, which qualifies you to lead smaller teams and hold a position in lower to middle management.
