Unlike at Universities, you do not need very good foreign language skills to start an interpreter training course at the interpreting schools, but it is recommended that you complete a language course in the foreign language of your choice before starting the course. For the intercultural interpreter course, however, foreign language skills are mandatory. As the course is aimed at migrants with good language skills, German should not be your mother tongue. Please discuss this point directly with the respective schools.
