Those who take a Federal Professional Examination (FPE) to become a copywriter with their own specialist certificate aim to create texts in advertising and communication agencies that serve to promote sales, marketing and communication. They never express their opinion or question the (alleged) advantages of a product or service. The situation is different for journalists who delve into a topic and shed light on both the positive and negative sides of it, who want to delve to the bottom of a story and hope to uncover hidden secrets. Serious journalists with a degree in journalism or similar training should be neutral and report facts, preferably in pretty words, but still truthful and informative. For a copywriter, exaggeration can often do no harm as long as it is within the legal framework.
