The commercial apprenticeship to become a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma) with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training can currently (2017) be completed in 21 sectors. These sectors are: Automotive industry, banking, federal administration, chemicals, services and administration (D&A), trade, hotel, catering and tourism (HGT), construction and housing, international freight forwarding logistics, communications, mechanical, electrical and metal industry (MEM), food industry, notary's offices in Switzerland, public transport, public administration (ovap), private insurance, travel agency, Santésuisse, hospitals / clinics / nursing homes, transport and fiduciary services and real estate.
