If you want to work as a dental assistant, you must have completed an apprenticeship as a dental assistant with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Federal VET Diploma) here in Switzerland. Alternatively, you can also train as a medical practice assistant with a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Federal VET Diploma), in which case you will mainly carry out administrative work and not assist the dentist, as is the case with dental assistants.
