Learning German at a reasonable price: Are there any German course discounts?
From 2014, it will be even cheaper to learn German, as the federal government, the cantons and many municipalities will provide financial support for German courses. People who would like to attend a literacy course or a German course up to level B1 will be granted one-off discounts, provided they do not already receive financial support from another source, such as social welfare. You must also be in possession of a B, C, L, F, S foreigner's permit or Swiss citizenship and must not exceed a certain maximum amount of taxable income. It is best to ask your local authority directly whether and how you can benefit from the "learn German at low cost" discount and which exact regulations apply.
