With a specialization in energy technology studies, you determine your focus and can thus already determine the direction of your future professional activity during your studies. The specializations offered vary depending on the university. For example, the University of Applied Sciences FHNW offers the specializations "Sustainable Buildings and Cities", "Renewable Energies and Energy Systems" and "Circular Economy and Resource Management" for the Bachelor's degree course in Energy and Environmental Engineering, while the zhaw School of Engineering offers the specializations "Thermal Energy Technology", "Electrical Renewable Energies" and "Sustainability and Technology". (as of fall 2023). The courses are always adapted to technological and socio-political developments and requirements. It is therefore important that you inform yourself thoroughly before starting your studies and compare the courses offered by the universities.
