As a rule, you do not need any previous knowledge for such courses. More extensive training courses, for example at journalism schools, which provide you with in-depth training in the entire field of journalism, are often called "diploma training". Such courses extend over a longer period of time and are primarily aimed at people who would like to work as journalists or editors in the future and already have some journalistic experience.
