Französisch Kurs für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene: Wie unterscheiden sich die einzelnen Leistungsstufen im Französischen?
French course for beginners and advanced learners: How do the different levels of French differ?
If you want to attend a French course for beginners or advanced learners in order to improve your language skills or gain initial knowledge, you will quickly realize that all courses are divided into performance levels or levels. These tell you how well you will speak French after completing a language course, but not about your previous knowledge. The scale ranges from the basic level A1 to the very advanced level C2 and comprises 6 individual levels.
There are also people who have an extremely rudimentary knowledge of French - perhaps having learned the language once on vacation, at school or in a previous French course a long time ago. For such people, a French course for beginners at level A1, perhaps even A2, is usually suitable. For people who can already communicate in simple sentences and, provided they speak slowly and clearly, can also understand what is being said, the situation is different. They usually opt for a French course at level B1, while those who understand complex content and can speak French fluently but want to expand their knowledge are most likely to choose a French course at level B2. Advanced speakers with almost perfect French vocabulary choose C1 and those who already speak perfect French attend a course at level C2, if at all.
If you don't know which level you belong to, it is always advisable to take a placement test before booking a French course. This can be done at the language schools or here on Ausbildung-Weiterbildung.ch. Click here for theFrench language test.
