Will I receive a diploma after training as an author?
The type of qualification you receive varies greatly depending on the type of course you complete. In the case of short seminars and courses that give you a brief insight into a subject area or provide you with intensive training in a specific area, you will usually receive a course certificate after completing the training. In order to be able to work as an author in the future, however, you often need basic training in journalism, for example in the form of a bachelor's degree or a course at a journalism school, if you want to work for a newspaper, television, digital media, radio or another medium. You will receive diplomas or university degrees that are recognized throughout Switzerland or even internationally. You can also obtain a federal certificate, such as a copywriter (FPE). If you are planning to attend a course that will help you to write your blog better, write for the club newspaper or write a novel, you will also find a large number of extremely beneficial seminars and courses in this area, where you will usually receive a certificate of attendance. However, as such continuing education, further training is usually more personal than professional, a recognized diploma is usually not necessary. What counts is what you effectively learn and not the certificate you receive.
