Learn French the easy way: What does the language level designation say about my knowledge?
If you want to take a language course and simply learn French, you'll soon realize that almost every course on offer is graded from A1 to C2. These refer to the level of the course and the course participants. If you want to start learning a language from scratch, you will not have any knowledge of the language and will therefore opt for a language course at level A1. However, if you have already studied French at school for several years and would now like to refresh your knowledge, an A2 or even a B1 course may be just right for you to simply learn French. The levels are divided as follows:
- A1 - Starter - minimum language skills
- A2 - Elementary - satisfactory language skills
- B1 - Pre-Intermediate - sufficient language skills
- B2 - Intermediate - good language skills
- C1 - Advanced - very good language skills
- C2 - Professional - excellent language skills
