Brauche ich für eine Weiterbildung zum Photovoltaik Installateur bereits eine Lehre?

Do I need an apprenticeship for continuing education, further training as a photovoltaic installer?

A course to become a solar technician / solar installer or the Federal Professional Examination for Solar Installation Project Managers are not basic training courses (apprenticeships), but continuing education, further training courses that require professional experience, but not necessarily a professional qualification. For example, you can attend the solar technician certificate course if you have at least four years of professional experience in solar technology or a related profession, such as building technician, roofer or façade builder, even if you do not have an apprenticeship qualification. It is also possible to attend continuing, further training to become a solar technician if you have an apprenticeship with a Federal Certificate of Vocational Education and Training as a roofer, electrical fitter, heating fitter, sanitary fitter, ventilation fitter, façade fitter or planner in these fields and at least two years of professional experience. However, if you are a photovoltaic installer and wish to take a Federal Professional Examination to become a solar installation project manager, you must have a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET Diploma) in a building envelope or building technology profession or equivalent training, as well as at least three years of professional experience in this field. The respective schools will inform you about the exact admission requirements for the individual courses.
