Do I need more time for a home study course than for a normal course?
Degree programs at face-to-face Universities, i.e. Universities where you only attend face-to-face classes, have a standard study period of 6 semesters for a Bachelor's degree. A home study course at a distance learning university or distance learning university of applied sciences extends over a much longer period, around 9 semesters, often more, so that you study at least half longer than at conventional Universities. The workload per week therefore corresponds to around 20 to 25 hours per week for a Bachelor's or Master's degree; for postgraduate courses (CAS, DAS, MAS, EMBA) the weekly workload is between 10 and 15 hours. This low learning workload allows you to work 50 to 80 percent of the time.
