Brauche ich für die Weiterbildungen in Informatik bereits Berufserfahrung?
Do I already need professional experience for continuing education, further training in IT?
Continuing education, further training is aimed at people who have already completed training, such as an apprenticeship or a degree.
Depending on the type of continuing education, further training may also require a degree in computer science (in the case of a consecutive Master's in computer science), but professional experience is not mandatory.
This is different with a CAS, DAS or MAS. These postgraduate courses from Universities are aimed at experienced professionals with a tertiary degree who want to train specifically in areas of IT, such as Business Analysis & Methods or Business Information Management.
However, IT knowledge is not necessarily required for each of these continuing education, further training courses at university level, which requires individual clarification.
Qualified professional experience is generally required for a CHE degree course in computer science if you do not have a related professional qualification in electronics, electrical engineering or computer science. The same applies to a university of applied sciences degree with a vocational baccalaureate.
In order to study computer science at a university, no practical experience is required after the Baccalaureate.
