Do I need previous experience in the industry to become an FPE insurance specialist?
Professional experience in the insurance sector is a prerequisite for continuing education, further training as an insurance specialist with Federal Diploma of Higher Education in order to be admitted to the Federal Professional Examination. If you have a degree in private insurance, this means two years in the insurance industry, or at least three years if you have at least three years of other vocational training, a degree from a commercial college or a Baccalaureate, as well as the insurance broker VBV qualification. If you do not have one of these educational or professional qualifications, you must have five years of professional experience, three of which must be in the insurance industry, in addition to the VBA insurance intermediary certificate in order to be eligible for continuing education, further training as an insurance specialist.
